People should buckle in
Daryl Morey's recent quote regarding Ben Simmons is widely applicable to all things.
Daryl Morey made a radio appearance in Philadelphia. On it, he offered this quote regarding the Ben Simmons situation:
“People should buckle in. This is going to go a long time.”
That's a damning quote. Really sounds like the Sixers are willing and able to take on this war. Here's some other times in my life when it would be perfectly normal to say, People should buckle in. This is going to go a long time.
When I hit the bathroom after completely smashing “The Mac Daddy” from Fat Daddy’s Hot Chicken and Waffles
When I get a FaceTime call from my mom asking me why the things in her Amazon cart aren’t showing up in her Amazon cart
When my computer starts sweating and pacing and huffing and puffing at me when I hit “export” on an hour-long YouTube edit
When the Pistons aren’t disclosing a timetable on Cade Cunningham’s ankle injury
When someone at dinner tells the waiter “Yeah, I think we need a few minutes.”
When the fire alarms in the dorms would go off at 5:30 on a Tuesday morning in college
When the Detroit Lions attempt to play football
When I have something important to go to, so I leave early so I'm not stressed, until I'm met by a completely stopped train, propelling me into the mental gymnastics of trip risk analysis, forcing me to contemplate whether turning around and trying to find a different route would be quicker than staying where I am
You notice how I wrote about Ben Simmons without actually writing about Ben Simmons? Yeah. It's intentional. I'm tired of these constant updates regarding his status. Until he's traded or plays in a game, he doesn't deserve this main section of the newsletter.
